Job Summary: The Group Home Supervisor works closely with the Regional Director to provide a wide variety of duties and functions related to the nurturing of children in a moderate level group home environment. Tasks will include all aspects of supervision, management, and social work to ensure the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and educational needs of the children residing at the Settlement. This person must operate within a budget to ensure a living environment that is safe, clean and orderly. This person will act as a liaison between the staff, children, parents, community resource agencies, custodians and general public. Responsible for the supervision of children’s activities, including, but not limited to: school, shopping, appointments, church visits, field trips and other activities related to the growth and development of children.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university required. Licensed Alabama Social Worker (or licensure within 12 months of hire) OR Alabama licensed LCP or Alabama licensed psychologist required. Paid experience as a social worker dealing with families, children and/or youth preferred. A valid driver’s license from state of residence and proof of automobile liability insurance required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing using the English language, required.
Part-time, Hourly - The Settlement - Headland, AL (Hourly)
Job Summary: The Staff Assistant works closely with the Program Supervisor to provide a wide range of standard secretarial and office support functions. This may include, but is not limited to information processing of moderately complex financial/accounting tasks. The Staff Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accurate filing of all documents, reports and correspondence. This person is also responsible for greeting and directing visitors, scheduling meetings, and the distribution of incoming mail.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent or GED and one (1) year of paid secretarial or computer related work required. An Associate’s Degree preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language required. May be required to take and pass relevant clerical test. Valid driver’s license issued from state of residence, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance required.
Full time - Northwest Therapeutic Foster Care - Jasper, AL (Salaried)
Job Summary: The Therapeutic Foster Care Case Worker works closely with foster care children and parents to provide a variety of services. Services may include, but are not limited to providing support to foster parents and children through relationship building, sharing of information, and family goal setting. The Case Worker will also provide assistance in planning ongoing basic living skills training and problem solving during home visits. This position requires working odd hours and being on-call for family emergencies. The Case Worker travels extensively over a multi-county delivery area. Counties currently being served are Blount, Cullman, Walker, Winston, Marion, Lamar, Fayette and Tuscaloosa.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university required. LBSW preferred. Experience working with children, families and/or youth preferred. Must be able to travel extensively over a multi-county delivery area, work odd hours and be on-call as family emergencies arise. Valid driver’s license from state of residence, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance required. This person may assist with the distribution of weekly allowance monies, and assisting children as needed with homework assignments. The Child Care Worker will transport and supervise children during activities such as shopping, doctor appointments, church visits, field trips and other activities related to their growth and development.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED Certificate) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Training and/or experience in child development issues or previous experience working with children preferred. Previous experience working with special needs children preferred. Physical health that is adequate to participate, when appropriate, in children’s activities and the ability to life and carry up to forty (40) pounds is required. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Valid Alabama driver’s license required.
